Botswana has embraced scarcity. Few lodges, few vehicles, hours on end without seeing a soul. It’s the country where the true meaning of a safari comes to life and where you understand why silence is a luxury. It’s also the first country that put its trust in me. The one where emptiness began to make sense.

The Okavango Delta is a magnificent anomaly. A river that never reaches the sea but instead flows into the Kalahari Desert, creating one of the richest wetlands on the planet.
What sets the Delta apart from all the other areas I guide in, is this unique combination of water and wildlife within a single ecosystem. A river that never reaches the sea creates more than 15,000 km² of channels, islands, and floodplains here, a site listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Elephants, lions, leopards, wild dogs, hippos, and an exceptional diversity of birds. Depending on the season, the safari experience varies: mokoro trips during the flood season when wildlife congregates on dry land, game drives, and boat trips on the canals during the dry season.
I offer trips to the Delta as either a mobile camp or a lodge, depending on your preferences and budget. A mobile camp allows you to move with the wildlife, change concessions with the seasons, and experience Botswana at its most authentic. Lodges offer a different experience: arrival by air taxi to a private airstrip, premium comfort, and immersion in an exclusive setting. In both cases, the experience is fully tailored to your needs.

Chobe is Africa at its most spectacular. It boasts the world’s largest concentration of elephants. Herds of buffalo stretch as far as the eye can see. And predators that haven’t learned to hide.
What strikes you most about Chobe is its vastness. Endless plains at the crossroads of Botswana, Namibia, and Zambia. The national park is home to nearly 130,000 elephants, the largest population on the planet. During the dry season, from May to October, the herds converge on the Chobe River in scenes of such animal density that it’s hard to imagine until you’ve seen it. Safaris here take the form of game drives and river cruises, offering photographic angles that few other destinations can match. The Savuti area, with its wetlands and rocky hills, is known for its confrontations between lions and hyenas and for spectacular hunts of large prey. The rocks also feature San rock paintings, evidence of a time when these lands served as a passageway before the desert.
I generally recommend this itinerary: Maun first, then Kasane. You enter through the Delta, the wildest and most immersive part of the journey, and gradually make your way out toward the Chobe River, then on to Victoria Falls if the trip is extended. Whether in a mobile camp or a lodge, with a tailor-made itinerary built around you.

In Botswana, two main seasons define the safari experience. From May to October, water flowing in from Angola floods the delta, wildlife congregates on the dry land, and Chobe becomes a spectacular sight. From late November to March, the rains transform the landscape: herbivores give birth, migratory birds arrive, and the bush turns green. A different way of experiencing the place.

Less than an hour from Kasane, Victoria Falls is a natural way to round out the tour. You can stop by for a day or stay for a few days, depending on how much time you have.
The world’s largest salt flats, remnants of an ancient inland lake. A timeless landscape, inhabited since prehistoric times and home to wildlife that has adapted to its extreme seasonal conditions.
Seeing the Okavango Delta from the air completely changes your perspective on the landscape. The channels, the islands, the wildlife seen from above: an unforgettable hour.
